Live Well Watertown began as a collaborative initiative between Watertown’s Community Development and Planning and Health Departments and a group of Watertown residents, whose shared goal was to promote healthy living and identify opportunities to build wellness into the fabric of the community.
In the mid-late 1960’s, a dedicated group of men and women provided a solid foundation for the Watertown Boys & Girls Club’s inception. Through strong leadership, vision, fundraising and Watertown’s support, the dream became a reality in September 1972. The organization’s vision and leadership continued as they were one of the first Clubs in the country to include “Girls” in their name. The organization changed its name to Watertown Boys & Girls Club in January of 1980.
